Makeup Haul, September 2014

I have to be honest: I have had some of these items for a few weeks now and I am only just getting around to doing a haul post about them. It was my one-year anniversary with my boyfriend at the end of September and typically, I used that as an excuse to buy makeup!

The first thing I bought was the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I know I am incredibly late getting on the bandwagon but it has only been recently that I have been really getting into makeup and priced at £37, I think it is a pretty big price to pay for someone who is only half-interested so I wanted to make sure I really wanted it before buying it. I actually really like the colours on the palette as they are very neutral and can be used for a multitude of different purposes - I use the lighter colours for work (Virgin as a highlight/in the inner corner, Sidecar over my lid and usually Half-baked or Toasted in my crease) and the darker colours are perfect for creating a smokey-eye look for the night. Having this palette makes me so excited to get the Naked 2 and 3 palettes as well as the Basics palettes for when I travel!

I also bought two MAC lipsticks and a lipliner. I have to confess that I bought these straight from online without actually swatching them or testing to see how they would look with my skin tone, however I did do quite a bit of Googling before hand, including searching through images of people wearing each of the colours. For my anniversary date, I bought lipstick in the colour Russian Red (I was torn between that and Ruby Woo) and since I wanted to really emphasise my lip shape and make sure I didn’t mess up the bright red lips, I bought a lipliner in the colour Redd to outline my lips. The second lipstick I got was in the colour Plumful, a pinky-plum colour that is perfect for everyday looks. The lipsticks were £15.50 each and the lipliner was £12.50.

When I went shopping, Boots had a 2 for £10 Rimmel offer on and since I knew Rimmel had recently introduced a new colour to their foundations, I had to check them out. The colour is Light Porcelain and is a much better fit for me than my previous Maybelline Fit Me Foundation so I bought the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and the Rimmel 25 Hours Lasting Finish Nude Foundation.

I also ended up buying some Real Techniques Brushes that I have had my eyes on for some time now and constantly check the price of whenever I go to Asda. I bought the Starter Set (£21.99) and Stippling Brush (£11.99, which I have been wanting for months and months and months!) and got the Applicator Sponge (£5.99) for free since there was a 3 for 2 offer.

The next few aren't makeup items, but still beauty-related items I have bought recently. A few weeks ago, I dyed my hair. Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on hair products so I got two L'Oreal Sublime Mousse hair dyes (£6.99 each) and a Lee Stafford Argan Oil From Morocco Miracle Shine Spray (£10.99) to make my hair look super shiny.

Since my current makeup remover is packed in a box somewhere and I am running out of moisturiser, I decided to buy the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (which I have heard a lot of people say great things about - £5) and the Garnier Fresh Moisturising Pot (£4.49).

Last but by no means least, I found the website Cohorted and from it I have bought two items: the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Brush Set, though I am still waiting for both to arrive.
So I have been on a pretty big spending spree over the past few weeks but it has all been worthwhile since I adore what I have bought and have been able to create so many different looks from each of the items. Check back in a couple of weeks for reviews on each of the products!

    1. I use the Naked palette everyday for work! But yeah, I definitely want some more... the colours are just so pretty! I also kind of want the Urban Decay Electric palette but I have no idea when I'd be able to use such bright colours - maybe I'll get it just to experiment?!
The Real Techniques brushes are soooo good, especially since they are so inexpensive as well!
